How to mate a spring in assembly?

Hi, forum!
I'm new to onshape, but not new to CAD. I work as a mechanical engineer, and sometimes like to design some small stuff for private purposes. I tried to use onshape for that.
Now I designed a spiral spring, that I want to place in an assembly. I didn't find a way to mate it to the pipe it should run in, or the backstop.
Is there a way to access the parts origin planes for mating, or to create centerlines for that purpose? Is there any other way to mate a spiral spring?
