I have been working on imported models from other platforms. What is the best way to wake the geometry up on the imported model so that i can then make the parts needed and insert them in a drawing and dimension them. at the moment some of the features are not being reconised in the drawing sheets. do i have to put the parts in a part studio and resketch them and dimension then insert into the drawing?

Have you tried use/project feature in sketch mode? It should find the geometry for recreation.
