loosing relationships

I created an assembly with many parts and have them all mated but when I try to use this assembly in a larger one some of the parts loose their relationship and I am not able to put them back into place.
Is there something that I have forgotten to do in the process?

If parts are mated in a sub-assembly, then you can't move them individually in the higher level assembly, just the entire sub-assembly can be moved.  Make sure that something isn't 'fixed' by accident.

The fix doesn't hold on assemblies when inserted into another assembly. I never try to have more than 1 fixed part in an assembly for this reason. I quite often will do an assembly with a group mate and 1 fixed part which locks everything in position.

Thanks guys, That helps I think. I redrew portion as an assembly paying better attention to the relationships. Once done I grouped them and seem to have them place in an upper level assembly just perfectly.

Good to hear @rick_chapman!  I have had the same issue as you described before and wasn't sure why it happened.  I try to use 'group' whenever I can because it seems to update well and saves me from adding a lot of mates.
