Can't seem select the interrior faces of an extrusion (removal) so I can modify further. Help?

Can't seem select the interior faces of an extrusion (removal) so I can modify it further. Example if I took a cube and selected one of the faces and extruded a smaller cube to hollow out the interior. I cant seem to address the inner extruded cube to do things like remove one of the floors of the cube. I am new to CAD software so simple solutions would be a big help.

I think you are trying to select faces that are under a sketch face. Your "Desk Right Side Face" sketch was not use in a feature, so it was not hidden automatically. You can hide a sketch a couple different ways:

    1) Hover over the sketch in the tree and click the eye symbol to the right of the item
    2) Right click on the entity and select 'Hide'
    3) Select or hover over the desired entity and press the 'y' key

@Jason_S How did you do the .gif that you placed in the post. I (of course) have another question I would like to post and don't know the proper technical way of explaining it. Thanks for the support and helping engineer a great piece of free software!
