Is there a way to extend a surface like "surface extend" in Solid works?

I'd like to extend a surface so it can be used to split a body

No command to extend the the edges. If it is planar you could transform with a uniform scale. Not ideal but another option would be to thicken, move faces on the edges then delete the unwanted faces so you are back to the original surface.

Can't you extrude the edge of the surface?

Owen, the trouble comes when you have a non-planar surface. Image you have a partial ellipsoidal surface. Extending an edge would be more complicated than just extruding or revolving an edge.

Bruce, I feel your pain, but in the meantime you could generate a patch surface with a loft using multiple profile/guide/path sketches. Make sure to select the appropriate end conditions (tangent/curvature continuity).

    Hi,

You can use this custom feature to extend surfaces.
    https://cad.onshape.com/documents/b1b694bd5db0f702f9dc4b3b/w/436b0d32f2538e0e9150e29a/e/573036cc6a83f62636116dce

It's limitation is that curvature is that it is not possible to control the curvature of the surface, so it will attempt the highest level of continuity, but sometimes will have to resort to G1 continuous surfaces.
