Featurescript: extruding between points.

I've written a simple featurescript which involves extruding an edge into a surface.  However, I'd much rather extrude between two points on an edge (the hollow dots) to make the sketch simpler and more flexible.
I've looked at line() which seems to create a positional vector rather than a line and can't see any way of creating an edge to extrude.

Any pointers for me?  I'm sure I'm just not looking for the right search term.

opFitSpline, when given two points, will create a perfectly straight line between those points (it's a line at every level: the GeometryType, the internal representation, the tessellation, etc.).

That function takes an array of position vectors. If your input is a query with point entities, you can get the position with evVertexPoint.
