Parts not displaying properly/clipped from sub-assembly to assembly

Hi - I'm having an issue where parts are displaying fine in a sub-assembly but when I add that sub-assembly to a top level assembly they are clipped/not displaying properly.
If I go back to the main Onshape menu and keep re-loading the document eventually the top level assembly will display properly. Given they display properly in the sub-assembly I don't think it's a problem with the actual models themselves. Note the individual parts (bucket elevators) are actually linked assemblies from another document.
There are no errors I can see.

Any thoughts?

The items that aren't displaying properly are imported STEP files and are solids.
