Creating ribs from lines rather than sketch entities?

I'm working on a project that needs a bunch of ribs in irregular locations. All of them need to come from lines on the same transform/copied part, but they are kind of all over the place.
Is there a better/easier way to get a rib from a line (intersection of two faces) than creating one plane per instance just to draw that one line for a rib?
Sample (I need ribs from the highlighted section to the next face):

I've barely looked at FeatureScript, but it strikes me as Javascript-like. Where would you start for my rib feature? Is the built-in rib feature implemented in FeatureScript that I can evolve/adapt?
