Drawing revision and a part version - confused ?

Hi all, I have used OS for a week now and I am a bit confused about how to handle drawing revisions in relation to versions of a part / assembly
I am used to having a revision table in the drawing and fill in a new revision line in the table every time the drawing is issued as an offical revision. Should I at that time make a version of the part/assembly to make sure we can come back to that drawing state at a later time?
How do you OS experts do this ??

To make this version a revision on the drawing, select the version (this will be view only), then go into the part meta properties or drawing meta properties, manual change the revision property and if that property is linked, it will update on the now read-only drawing. You can also set the release state of the drawing or part too which can help when searching.
To understand the revision property, it is set to be able to "Edit value in version", not all property are this way.
