Organic Shapes

Dear All

I am trying to create a shape like the Eames La Chaise (see link) but not having much success. I have tried using lofts, bridging curves and plain extrusions and fillets but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Lofts and fills can be a bit nitpicky. In my experience the easiest method to creating an organic shape is to overbuild a surface using something like a grid of guide/profile curves that start/end on each other using pierce constraints. Then, trim away what you don't need with a Split. Here's a random example
