How do you group by Part Number in Open Bom? Can you use the Onshape ID option?
We have many parts with similar names but part numbers are individual and the main id for our parts

then hit the sort accending/decending bar at the top of the column
now fill in the balloon numbers in order.
The sorting of the table inevitably comes down to the values in the Balloon Number column.6

There is a function to assign numbers automatically to Balloons.
Also, you can rename "Balloon Number" property and this name will come to Onshape drawing BOM.
