drawing - dimension not correct

Hello,
i have a door frame with hinges 497.5 mm away from the edge. When i create a drawing and show the distance of the hinge, Onshape shows 351mm. What am i doing wrong?

I do not think Onshape supports dimensions in oblique views. Note all the dimensions are incorrect in iso view. The section view shows correctly.

I would say the 'Accepted' diagnosis is incorrect. A measurement is absolute, to consider any other value based on a view is absurd.
I may suggest this phrasing ... and further direction ...
Not supported = Can perform the action. Resulting action provides an Error notification ( or no action / no result / out of scope of product ).
Bug = Can perform the action. Resulting action is incorrect.
Bug(s) should be corrected in the product as they are misleading and incorrect.
Thank you.
Yup!

I’m not a pro but it is sad that dimensions on isometric views on OS are wrong. Isometric drawings are by far more compelling that any ortho view so any info associated to that kind geometric representation should not be misleading as it is on current OS drawings.
.. and OS team should not wait a democracy-style vote to fix something that is wrong.
I am still experiencing this in 2024! How is this not fixed yet? This is an absolute show stopper when it comes to select this as a professional cad tool. In the part studio, the selected dimension is 5000mm, while in the drawing it is 4506.94mm. Is this even on the roadmap to fix?
I was just about to write about the same Onshape behaviour. This is very… sad… and bizarre "feature" of any CAD system.
How to build things has been done in 2d since the beginning.. Dimensions in 3D unfortunately isn't the norm…. yet. I do this in other software on my other projects. Definately would utilize it in OS if it was done well and makes life easy.
