How can I flatten a cone?

I'm a newbie trying to get a flattened version of this section of a cone. I've tried using sheet metal model, but it doesn't work with cones. Can someone point me towards a solution to this please?
To make it clear, i need 2d envelope from this 3d model.

konstantin_shiriazdanov Member Posts: 1,221 ✭✭✭✭✭@jeremy_lee540 the doc by link contains the original source of Sketch Wrapper feature which was used to flatten the cone.if the cone is going to be made of sheet metal you may face some distorsions since this feature doesn't take into account k-factor
