Editing part in assembly

Good Day, I would like to find out if you can edit a part while in assembly? and how do can you edit a part out of assembly and the changes also happen in assembly instead of deleting the part and changing it with the new part which you made changes?

If the inserted part references a workspace, rather than referencing a version, it will update automatically when changes are made in that workspace.  Note that inserting from a workspace is only available in the same document.  You cannot insert a part from a workspace of a different document, you can only insert a part from a version.
