Bend lines not showing

When I create a sheet metal part from a solid shape there are no bend lines when I add the flat pattern to a drawing. I am only getting bend lines when I have used the flange command. What am I doing wrong?

Without seeing the model I can only guess that you've had cylinders in the original solid shape where bends are expected. Those cylindrical faces have to be selected as bends in order for then to be treated as bends.
