Let two parts rotate around one axis and connect their rotation.

I have a crankshaft and a gear connected to it. I want to let the gearshaft and the gear rotate in an interconnected way (I want to animate the rotation of both parts with only one constraint). So that when I rotate the crankshaft, the gear rotates in the same direction with the same speed. How can this be done?

Use a fasten mate from the center of the gear, to the center of the shaft.

Use offset within the fasten mate if you need to slide it down the shaft more.
