Merge, combine, assemble a list of uploaded parts into a single (document|workspace|...)?

I've uploaded a bunch of components (https://cad.onshape.com/documents?column=modifiedAt&order=desc&resourceType=folder&nodeId=5c72b8f4018bab252ca5f19f). When I uploaded them I chose the "Upload to a single document" option, but they all appear to be separate ... {not sure of the correct terminology here}.
I want to get them all into a single 'place' so I can see them all (and hide some) and position them relative to each other etc.
I created a 'document', and it had an 'assembly', which offers an 'import' from 'other documents'; bu:
- there is no way to select more than one at a time.
- it insists that they have had "2 modifications" each -- despite I haven't even looked at them -- and wants me to create new versions of them.
Is there no way to simply drop/dump/import them into a single 'place'?
