How to replicate holes around a simple ring?
![going_along](https://cad.onshape.com/images/placeholder-user.png)
I have a hole in the side of a ring and I want to replicate that hole 5 times (ie every 72deg).
I choose the circular pattern tool - right?
How do I select the hole?
How do I select the rotation axis?
The way I am going about it the only thing I can select is the entire part.

Hi.
You're nearly there.
You need to change the drop down box from "part pattern" to "face pattern".
Like this:-
You'll then be able to select the inside cylindrical face of the hole for the "faces to pattern" input field.
For the rotation axis Onshape is pretty flexible, you can select any edge or face that has the required centre and orientation. So inside cylindrical face of the ring, outside face, top face, bottom face, circular edge, all should be just fine.

You could also use feature pattern instead of face pattern, either is good here.
Hope that helps,
