how to turn off the lasso and use the rectangle?

sometimes a get the rectangle, then it will switch to lasso, how to control it while deleting

I will try tonight, Thanks...right now it seems like all I can get is that mouse trace. it seems very elusive to get the rectangle every time. Maybe I need to slow down and let the server update me0

AFAIK there is no lasso select in OS. The selection rectangle works in a touch or surround mode depending on you drawing it from left to right or right to left, though.

here is the lasso and the rectangle from the snip command , I have not yet figured out how to turn off the lasso, it seems to have a mind of its own0

I doubt it, I am pretty mouse centric, I only use the escape key...still a newbie0
