Gears in Assembly

Made some gears in Part Studio. Import gears in Assembly Tab and connect them with Revolute mates. Gears are different, so I must rotate them to put teeth together. OK. Then take a Gear mate, specify gear ratio - and gears turned to position before rotating.

When you add a relation, the mates "reset" - i.e. they go back to their original alignment with the mate connectors that were used. If you want to rotate a gear and modify it's "reset" position, edit the mate connector (located under the revolute mate) and add a Rotation about Z.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA5

Try to connect Small Sun and Short Planet 1 with Gear mate (ratio 2) and you will see that this two gears will rotate !!!??? The teeth are NOT touching correctly. What to do?0 -
I'm able to make it work for the Small Sun and any one of the Short Planet mates, but if I include a gear mate for more than one, suddenly it breaks. Seems like a bug.0

Good info, but not what I was seeing. Can you make his assembly work? I couldn't.0

I haven't tried it - will do later and report back.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA0

Works fine once all the gear relations are on - if you fix the Planet Carrier while adding relations you can see it working as expected. The last thing to do is add a gear relation between the small sun and the planet carrier of ratio 3 and you're all set - very nice btw.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA1
