How to create a section view of a part?

I am transitioning from Solidworks where there is an option in the tool bar for sectioning. Currently, there is no such tool in my tool bar and it's not imbedded in the available tools.

Welcome to Onshape! All the buttons in the toolbar are parametric modeling operations (not viewing modes like section view). To turn on section view you can click 'Turn section view on' in the view menu:
