Getting a control sketch ready for lofting

The vertices in this sketch have all been measured out from a tent I go backpacking with.  I'll use the beams featurescript for the metal frame.  What I'm trying to figure out is how to model the fabric.  I can add more offset planes to add more "interval" data along the Z axis for more X/Y sketches...  However i'm not sure how to properly do this so that the loft command will work.  Also unsure on pro's/con's of lofting a surface, versus lofting a solid and shelling to something thin, like .015-.025".

The problem was that sketch at z = 0 included circles, with those removed loft works without a reported error.

I'm getting a really odd "twist" - any ideas?

Edit: I also have a feeling the sculpt face FS will be ultimately be used as well.

    Answering my own questions here.

One of the edges was constructed with two lines, while in the other sketch that edge was generated with a singular line.  Extra lines = extra vertices.
