How to flatten a cylinder?

I have a tube with the end cut to meet another part. How do I unroll the cylinder to get a sheet metal blank?

Or you could make the circle an arc.
You will then (hopefully) be able to extrude that as a sheet metal model0 -
I sketched a circle and extruded it. Then converted it into sheet metal model so I could get the flat pattern.
End result here in my wheelbarrow wheel:

Two 180 degrees arcs together did not work. An arc ?? where the gap is on the order of the material thickness did not work. Arcs with larger gaps worked (extrude into solid, then convert). Still testing Chris'.mbartlett21 said:Or you could make the circle an arc.

I didn't extrude it. I had a solid cylinder (or one with a thin flat strip) and tried to convert it.0

it is not very convinient to unwrap closed surfaced for now, because you need to split them first and orient internal coordinate system correctly
