I am unable to get a mate connection to snap to the center of the round end of a square to round transition.

Implicit Mate Connectors may not be where you want. In that case create an Explicit Mate Connector in Part or Assembly Studio. See HELP here.www.accuratepattern.com0

As Bruce said, you can create a Mate connector in the Part Studio, like in this example

I was having trouble getting the round elbow to mate to the center of round end of the square to round transition piece. For some reason the round end of the square to round piece would not place a mate connector in the center. I used a parallel mate and it got it close but not perfect.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your help.

Add a mate connector in the part studio linking to the part with the square hole. You can use a square to layout a position for the mate connector if need be.
It would be nice in the future for Onshape to auto-create a Mate Connector in the center of a square hole or slot. This has been discussed many times on this forum. Please vote here.
