Is there an Onshape app or function that calculates the total area of a single part?

The area of a 3D part determines powder coating costs. These parts are all steel plate rectangles with rectangular cutouts and round holes of various sizes. A generalized app would avoid creating different area formuas for each part, and could accommodate new parts of greater complexity.
Many other Onshape users must require area calculations. What soultions are available in the Onshape Universe

Another sweet tool is the Feature Script - 'Calculate Bounds' for getting Extents of one or more parts or surfaces.
It also may be possible to write a feature where you select the face to be coated and it writes that area to the custom properties of a selected part. This would then be a feature that lived at the end of your feature tree for this purpose only similar to what can be done with the part number feature.
