Linked Sub Assemblies Are Not Updating To My Main Assembly After Adding New Feature

I have a tube weldment fixture assembly with a few sub assemblies and I added a chamfer to all the parts in their respective sub assembly documents, now when I go back to make sure the chamfer I added was large enough I can not get it to update. I've tried everything I know how and have been stuck for quite some time. Thank you in advance!

Linked documents use versions. In the top level assembly, there should be a blue button, top left. That will recursively create versions in all your linked docs and then show the update.

    editing "open linked document"
NeilCooke Opening a linked document from an Assembly will give you a version that apparently cannot be edited. What is the recommended workflow?
In this specific case I have moved the document and I can fix it by deleting the part in the assembly and reinsert but I would have expected things to work smoothly.

@rune_thorsen229 - "open linked document' opens at the read-only version that's inserted in the assembly. Click "return to main" at the top to make it editable. Not sure what you mean in your second sentence? Should just be able to make a new version in the linked doc and update to latest in the assembly.

I believe once you've opened the linked document it will show the version but it will also have an option in the top left of the screen to "return to main".  ("Main" is the name for the default active workspace.)

If you go there you'll be able to carry out your changes, create a new version and then you'll be able to go back to your assembly and it'll offer the update for you.

    Hope that helps,
    Owen.

Thanks, I don't know if it works. I solved the problem by replacing the part.
