Patterns along a series of surfaces
I'm trying to model a bin with a fancy pattern on the outside. I start with a rounded rectangle end extrude that upwards. I think create a fancy part on one of the flat surfaces and extrude it. So my friend exported the shape as a dxf. I was able to upload that and then import it into my sketch. But now when I try to extrude it the extrusion fails. I then tried to use the offset tool and it won't create an offset. It allows me to select the edges, but it won't create an offset. Not sure if I'm doing something… -

Thanks for the answer, as far as it goes that makes sense - but if the rib sketch extends past the curved face it simply extrudes a rectangle down it simply extrudes a rectangle to the top face - and it can cope with this rib crossing onto the curves face: or if the rib profile ends in line with the corner it again… -
Re: Curve pattern spacing not equal
sounds solved, but for the future this is what it looks like when you feature pattern and some of them fail. The feature will re-run Extrude feature, but if it fails, the pattern feature doesn't show an error. It just skips that one and moves on. btw, this looks like a case where patterning the body instead of the features… -
