Re: Generating flat patterns from rolled profiles
First time asking something here, but bear with me. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/728cdc12963545ec1d3d10e1/w/b49176ac2469d0f5e27eef99/e/d33e5866408864e4a52424c4 In this file, if I've done it right, the green part, because of its variable width on the curve, what it would look like if flat instead of rolled into a ring. -
Re: HOW TO RELAX FLEXED SHEETMETAL PART
I beleve in this case my FS won't work because we have a shape of double curvature. Though since the length of the part is far greater then the width you can get approximate solution by measuring the length of inner and outer edges and calculating the mean value and considering the width to stay the same -

Re: How can I adjust part pattern spacing based on part geometry?
@Lachlan_Barrell - Will the number of components change in the assembly often? I think the "pattern" tool is useful when you want to easily change the number of components in an assembly, but in your case, you may be better of mating the parts manually. If you do this manually, without the pattern feature, your mates will… -

Unexpected operator in if statment
I am sure I am missing something really obvious here but I have the message below: The Query it relates to is: <div> annotation { "Name" : "Width"} </div><div> isLength(definition.width, {(millimeter): [200, 800, 1000]} as LengthBoundSpec);</div> I have tried all combinations of with and without units, dividing by units… -
Width mate
In solidworks, I commonly use a Width mate to place a rectangular part equidistant between two faces. I typically need this for fixtures that hold a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and I want the board centered between the two interior faces of the fixture. Is there something similar in OnShape. I am exploring OnShape now. I…
