Re: Why is my mate assembly overdefined?
Onshape only requires one to constrain a part. A Fastened mate fully constrains all 6 degrees of freedom of a part. In your assembly: Part 1 <1> is fixed Fastened 1 fixes Part 1 < 3> Fastened 2 fixes Part 2 <1> Fastened 3 fixes Part 1 <2> Fastened 4 fixes Part 1 <4> Any more mates will overdefine your assembly. -
Get a Vector from an Edge
Is there a way to convert an edge (query) to a vector? I've asked Chat GPT but it just seems to make stuff up... "Hi, Chat GPT here, In Onshape FeatureScript, you can convert an edge to a vector using the opEdgeToVector function. This function takes an edge as input and returns a vector representing the direction of the… -
BUG: parameters not applied to sketch after "use" AND "transform"
steps: 1. draw a sketch on Plane 1 2. "use" it onto a sketch on Plane 2 3. "transform" the new ("used") sketch (move or rotate) 4. modify the Plane 1 sketch EXPECTED: the Plane 2 sketch reflects the changes to Plane 1 sketch ACTUAL: plane 2 sketch is unchanged. ------------------ note: if you skip step "3", above, the… -

Re: Changing variable value breaks sketches inconsistently
Hello Paul. It is currently Public. I think you may have some confusion as to the scope/uses of Variables and Configurations. Please take a look at Part Studio 1 Copy 1 in the linked document using variables and configurations. Part Studio 1 Copy 2 is a variaton of the Configuration Panel. - Scotty… -

Assembly Probleme
Re: Can i change the shape of a circle but keep the same circumference
I believe the 'tires' John refers to are the rubber bands (mine are somewhere between 1/16-1/8" thick) that fit on the outer surfaces of the 'wheels' upon which the band saw blade rides. I question if TPU (especially printed) would have the properties required to safely hold up for very long. - Scotty
