Re: Bending Gear Rack Along a Slight Curve
You could also just use one of the gear feature scripts (such as Neil Cooke's) and make a full spur gear and cut away everything except for the sector you need.

Master Model course slide correction(s)
In the Master Model course, section 03. Maximizing Master Model Techniques, slide 47 needs to be updated within Exercise: In-Context Space Allocation.
Specifically, you cannot suppress an item within a BOM in flattened mode any longer. https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/bill_of_material.htm#exclude_local
The slide should probably be updated to reflect this, since at the moment the screenshot shows being able to do this in Flattened mode.
Re: How do I create a simple planar surface bounded by a sketch?
Offset face with zero offset distance.
Re: Multi-Part Part Studios no correct answer
Hello all. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Step 4 the revolve thickness should be pointing inward. This wasn't clear in the exercise and I am fixing it now.
Re: SELF-INTERSECTING BODY (LOFT)
the iso lines folding back into the tube indicate the issue…make the part "new" and you might have to add some guide lines on the top and bottom of the tube and on each side if you want to keep the profile circular.
Re: Hello people, question abt part numbering, BOM-s, workflow
@S1mon Yes, I haven't officially created a forum post or entry for Cut List+ yet. It's been slowly evolving as different users request more features. There is also a stripped down version of it in the: CADSharp FeatureScript Video Tutorials which shows how to take Onshape's default features and customize them to fit your workflow.
The "Features" input is so that instead of manually selecting frames, you can select the feature that made them. This is for when you don't need to select all frames in the studio but perhaps a few features that made a group of frames. It appears the Feature list input broke due to some Onshape updates. Strange, those usually don't break things but the feature list input is a little strange.
Thanks for the input! I think these improvements would be valuable and an easy addition.
Here's a mysterious hidden update for the Cut List+ feature: 😂
- Added Unit option for selecting which units to name or describe the parts.
- Fixed feature list input.
- Fixed name issue where prefix would only name if Qty name was enabled.

Re: Changing line color of exported DXF
I will concur with Martin. It seems vitally important for sheet metal teams to be able to export SM flat patterns with colors such that etch marks, bend lines or part numbers can be decerned by the nesting/CAM software. All of the nesting/CAM software have mapping features that map a dxf pen color to a machine function.
Re: Notes in sketch dimensions
Still waiting for this, would be a very nice addition to onshape. Especially if you are coming from SW and used the dimension text available there you miss this feature a lot. The workaround just isn't that great.

Re: Sketch is not contrain
Thank you . the radius on a sketch was duplicated . . . i found and corrected .
Re: Improvements to Onshape - July 18th, 2025
I do not see Straight Pipe Tap as an option in the hole tool. The "Straight Tap" option seems to revert all settings to UNF thread styles. As a lighting manufacturer, 1/8 NPS is one of our most commonly needed threads.
