Re: In Part Studio: How to place one part on the surface of another and merge them via extrusion?
Hello Sebastian. One way is to move part 2 (smaller part?) into position using mate connectors assigned to each part. From there an option is to extrude the appropriate face of part 2 so that it joins part 1. - Scotty
Re: In Part Studio: How to place one part on the surface of another and merge them via extrusion?
You can try to move part 2 using the transform tool, then transform with a mate connector or by translation until the bodies are intersecting. Then boolean them together to get your desired part
Re: Renaissance - Big update and a new tool
Renaissance has another new update!
A new tool has been added to Renaissance - "Remove Sketch Constraints".
This tool will go through all sketches in a part studio and find constraints that are missing geometry, and remove the constraints.
This is something that can happen if you are copying sketches between part studios or removing upstream geometry.
A quick and easy way to clean up copied sketches.
Subscribed today to get this and whole bunch of other great tools.
New tools added regularly.
Feature request: Part names highlighted while hovering over parts
There are moments where it would be very helpfull when the part names in the parts list under the feature tree would be highlighted when hovering over parts in the 3D window. For instance when you review part studio's from others and want to get used to the names correlating to the parts.
Kind regards!
Re: out of memory?
Where does this message appear? Inside Onshape or Windows? Is a document open at the time of the error? Thanks.
Re: Rendering: Section Views
Sections do work, so if there are cases you are finding please log a support ticket.
The reason for cap color override is when you have > 1 section.
Re: Rendering: Section Views
RenderStudio can do sections, but not the same as regular Onshape. This definitely seems like a shortcoming. Many of the major issues have been/are being addressed, but there are many places where it's a bit rough around the edges.
