Re: Catia .MODEL File
@fst
That's a bit like saying wouldn't it be great if there was one computer programming language that everyone would use. Due to the way the mathematics of NURBs surfaces work, we're lucky that STEP is relatively stable and well defined. Getting all CAD programs to use compatible parametric history is pretty unlikely.

Or another way to look at it:

Re: Building a helix on a torus...
I did not even know about this FS. We urgently need need need a place to search and browse all existing feature scripts! With Images of what they do! In this case one user is looking for a toroidal curve, and he's bound to never find the 3D spiral which would provide an immediate solution, just because the search prompt misses it by a hair. I don't understand why OS is not taking care of this powerful selling point.
Re: skech keybinds removed?
You will need to be in a workspace, versus a version. Versions will not have edit functions and will be view only. Hit Return to Main, blue button top center, or navigate to the workspace from the versions and history tree, left side pane.
Make sure you are in a part studio for sketches, keyboard shortcuts are different depending on environment, parts, assemblies or drawings.
SHIFT +/ will open the keyboard shortcut menu. Here you can review your settings. The Help Menu drop down, (question mark icon upper right), also has the path for key board shortcuts.
Lastly, in your Account Settings, (Name icon dropdown upper right), Preferences, Keyboard shortcuts section, you can manage your shortcuts. There is even a reset all button to get you back to square one.

Re: Import Issues. File is showing two options. UPDATE or DOWNLOAD
Agree Simon. it would be very helpful as I sat down to check some files from a supplier and it ended up taking over 2 hours to import. If I had known it took so long I could have focussed on other projects.
An import BAR status with approximate time would be very handy

Thicken!michael_fuller said:Tried that; works great. But...that creates a surface, not a solid. How do I "solidify" that? Getting somewhere inasmuch as that's a feature I've never tried...Urs_Egger_REACT said:That's a common issue with most CAD systems due mathematical "overshoot" of spline curves. This usually happens when you try to create a surface with only 3 edges instead of 4. So the mesh with x and y oriented curves gets wrinkled.
Best way is to avoid 3 sided surfaces. Or you can try to use other surfacing tools as for example "fill"

Re: Unable to assign P/N to standard content
Yes. There is a setting under Company Settings > Preferences > Authoring Permissions where you can select Users or Teams allowing them to edit properties of standard content.
Re: Won't allow an extrude
You might've been extrude-adding. The three important variables are direction, type (new/add/remove/intersection), and merge scope. We have logic that will try to set these things intelligently, but it won't do what you want 100% of the time.
