Re: Tricky Frame Corners
Is this what you're after?

Re: Trimming a frame by multiple faces with curved profiles
just using replace face on the fillet faces seems to work. Here's an example (piggybacking on glen's model) https://cad.onshape.com/documents/72e66e52499f52723cd229df/w/e2a85f83ffd954052371bbd5/e/116eec4d083764ab6416fe00
Re: Curved Text
If they didn't want you to use it, they would have made it private and not posted a shareable link

Most people here are more than happy to share thier featurescripts or public models. If you ask nicely someone may even write one from scratch just for you. I owe one person esspecially a lot. He has helped me with a bunch of scripts. He even pops in and maintains them time to time when there is an update. Great people around this community.
Re: how do I set up the default to y-axis up?
Short answer, you can't.
From Onshape's AI Advisor:
When importing parts from other CAD systems, you can set the Y-axis up orientation in two ways:
1. During Import: When importing files, check the "Source is Y Axis Up" option to orient imported models with the Y axis up [6]. This is particularly useful for CAD files from systems where the Y axis is the default up axis, such as SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk Inventor [1].
2. Post-Import Adjustment:If you've already imported a model, you can still change its orientation by opening the Import feature in the document's Part Studio and checking the "Source is Y Axis Up" option [6].Important
Notes:- Onshape's default up axis is the Z axis [6]

Re: Improvements to Onshape - May 16th, 2025
I have to say, I didn't think "resume last location" was a big deal. After using OS for a week now, I'd say it might be my favorite improvement of all time. It really shows up almost every single time OS is used, improving the quality of life. Nice job.
Re: Investing in Onshape's Foundation: Focus on Stability and Performance for the Next Two Releases
Much needed! Very much needed! I would go as far as to say, new features only every 3 updates and always have two update interval dedicated only to bug fixes and general improvements to existing functionality. I know I probably speak for myself but, new stuff every three weeks just seems unneeded and impractical. Critical fixes already get fixed with micro system updates mid update term so I really feel like the three week feature update interval is mildly ridiculous. I'm sure some marketing team somewhere has historical data that is strongly disagreeing but… Even if the new features were every 9 weeks, I still think that's an interval of introducing new stuff that is better than anything else your going to be getting in the other big cad systems. 😉
Re: The Final and Solve button, do they do the same thing?
No.
- Final button shows the final outcome at the end of the complete feature tree.
- Solve button just solves the currently edited mate condition and those of parts already 'attached'.
Re: sharing data and discussing design securely
Even if a company doesn't have a policy about creating a new account, it's a level of friction that is often a barrier for sharing with many reluctant partners. There are a lot of people out there who will not create a new free account or install a new free app for any random thing.
As far as I can tell, the main reason that Onshape requires an account creation is to possibly sell another seat or seats of Onshape. The last time I shared Onshape files with a customer (who didn't have a paid account) Onshape sales contacted them. It makes some kind of sense, but it also seems obnoxious and desperate.
I would request that Onshape looks very carefully at things like Dropbox or Docusign. Those services work well without account creation, and even if you do create an account the level of nagging and sales BS feels relatively low.

Re: Sketch is not fully defined?
Hard to tell without sharing the document, but my guess would be that one of those lines needs to be constrained as vertical or horizontal. Try grabbing one of the corners and your square probably rotates.
Re: sharing data and discussing design securely
Yes, that's indeed somewhat contradictory, but the world is crazy.
No doubt creating and signing in to an own Onshape account is the best thing to do. But people are reluctant to commit, or their company guidelines require an approval process before whatever accounts may be created. I've been working for such a company myself. Approvals, while aiming to improve security, eventually slow down these things to a level of uselessness that frustrates employees and makes them develop workarounds of their own to circumvent the whole system, just so they can get their job done in time.
That said, we need some low-friction reasonably trustworthy sharing process that does not easily disclose data while nobody gets fired for using it. I think a password protected link sharing would just fit this gap.
