If you share your document, that would help the investigation. But, if I understand your goal, I think a slider mate with some offsets will get you there.

I wonder whay the mass and section properties dialog has no check box to create an MC at CG wile it is at it calculating.

Here or maybe next to the mass override check box. That would really make sense and it'd be at the place it is expected.

Can I create my own standard content?

I've got some custom pipes and pipe fittings I would like to insert into an assembly. I can easily do this with configurations, even across documents (thank you, OnShape!) But I was wondering if there is any way to create my own standard content that could be owned and organized by a team? This seems like a common use case. Right now I just use a "shared" document that teammates can pull parts from. Is this the recommended way to do this ATM? and are there any plans to incorporate shared content functionality?

No tool can guess your intent, but there are a few tools in the Feature Script section that'll help you create splits with glueing aids such as dovetails and offsets. You could search this forum or search though the published FS in the public documents or directly from the FS menu.

Onshape for commercial use has never been free but I see your 6 months on the Discovery program has now ended so your documents are still private but view only. It looks like you have a call scheduled with your account manager, but I'll forward this to them anyway.
