Re: Parametric Offset in a Sketch
@russell_dunlop I favor the approach @David_YL_Nguyen is proposing. You don't need to do the patterning in the sketch itself. Instead you can (with some clever setup) pattern the sketch feature and the extrude cut feature in a way that it updates flexibly. Here's an example of what that can look like.

A lot of cool stuff, I really like the new edit within pattern and hide/show while creating In context Part Studio… yet I have two questions:
Is there a set time limit when "Document recovery" will popup?
Is it possible to implement a "threshold display" for Curve deviation? Something similar in Dihedral analysis. It would be great to see "deviations from 0,2 to 0,5 mm" in one color and anything above and below in different ones. I've already created #388295 for it.
Re: Can I add notes to a sketch within a part studio
I came here looking for some annotation for parts drawing @EvanReese said that it is not obvious that a sketch is annotated unless that annotations bar is open.
However when the annotations bar is open an icon appears next to the sketch. but it disappears as soon as the annotations bar is closed
Why not just leave that icon visible whenever an annotation is present?

Thanks @Ste_Wilson - yes, the Onshape Educator Plan was introduced in Dec 2023 - @Dr_Richard_Gregory if you cannot see "Classes" under the "Create" dropdown, please create a support ticket.
Re: I want to copy this sweep to the other "islands"
A general approach with something like this is make your island as a "new" part, not an "add" when you make its initial extrude. Then any features that belong to the island, such as the ogee edge, or anything else, gets done as an "add" to the island only, not to the base.
When you have the island as far as you can take it, do a circular part pattern of the island, and select the "add" option within the part pattern to union the islands to the base.

You can extent the handle sweep path below the surface of the lid or as in this example use replace face.

I can definitely see the one of the events you are talking about in our logs (18:54 UTC). Our servers are reporting that the client stopped responding and so we closed the connection. You are right: A stable internet connection is required for Onshape to work. Looking at the logs on our servers, I'm not seeing any other issues at that time.
I'm happy to see you have been using us since 2018. Part of the benefits of the pro discovery program is that you have access to our world-class support team. Open a support ticket and we can dig in a bit more to see if there are any patterns around what you ran into. It also gives you the ability to try Onshape for free to see if it works for your use case. If you find out that it doesn't suit your needs, there are definitely other CAD choices in the market.
Re: Custom Feature: Frame Trim/Extend
I think the only way this could be done is if frame trim allowed for multiple faces to be selected, which currently it doesn't AFAIK. Seems like a useful feature to have though!

I'll echo that the addition of configurable visibility of specific options is a game-changer, but currently because you cannot select the whole range of options it's quite limited. I appreciate the workaround, I might implement that for something I'm working on if a fix isn't pushed soon.
