Re: Released Configured Part Not Configurable
I have a product that can be configured many different ways, and all of the various configurations must be released (and updated when a revision is made). The trouble I have, is that before release, I can easily change the assembly configuration and the assembly updates correctly with configured parts. I'm trying to figure out the best method to keep that same functionality and easily switch between multiple released configurations.
Re: Configurable Properties
for some instances, the newly available feature to 'exclude from properties' may be a solution. But only in part studio's and only if the variations of those configurations are not relevant for the BOM either.
Exclude from properties introduction
This issue occurs more often. also in assemblies.
What if you'd want to add a property to the assembly, regardless of the configuration?
I'd love it if in 'configured properties' for parts or assemblies a wildcard "*" would be available that would imply all configurations for that variable.
Re: How are people dealing with things that are measured by length on a BOM?
@billy2 , @nick_papageorge073 ,
You can use the "set property" feature to build a name/description that incorporates any variables automatically, then you wouldn't have to change it manually after the fact (and having it be wrong if things change…)

As parts are created, they are rendered in a sequence of eight colors, shown below, from left to right, with the sequence starting over on the 9th part:
Re: Custom Feature: Cable/Wire Routing
@jacob_lafond good catch. Turns out this is a bug in the Onshape CSV import code so there is nothing I can do to fix it until it's fixed in by the devs which (believe it or not) is not so simple. Can you use another number format for now? If not, I could possibly have it parse a string (so you would have to put "1D" or "1F" in the csv).
