Parts color in assembly

Is there a way to override the default color of a Part in an Assembly?

    But I can't change the configuration of sub-assemblies  parts :/ I guess this would require configuration feature in assemblies...

    Yes we are all very much looking for to Configs for assemblies. 

    @owen_sparks Can we control the transparency with configurations? that would be a good option if not.
