Gear Relation

The gear relation feature is very restricted in that it only works with the revolute mate and this makes it impossible to make work with certain constructs where the cylinder mate is the only option. It would be better to include the cylinder mate as a choice too.

The gear relation uses the rotation degrees of freedom from existing mates. So you should be able to apply a gear relation between revolute and cylindrical mates.

There may be specific problems with the mating scheme in your assembly. But if you open a ticket and share the document with support they can investigate.
