Lofting a dome

Hi,
I'm trying to model an observatory dome, but I can't figure out how to get it hemispherical. I've tried using the orange line as a path, but that turns one side 'inside out'.
Am I going about this the right way, and if so how do I fix it?
Thanks
Mike

I thought it would work if I used tangent to profile on for the start profile (the polygon), but the tangent is not right
and trying to use the arc as a path fails
Can you elaborate on how you did that?
