Can assembly join different parts?

Hi, I am a teacher who intends to use Onshape to have my class build a model of a fortress we can then print in plastic.  I am learning Onshape myself.  I discovered that it is much easier to build the pieces and then drag and drop them together, but when I import the document to Kiri:Moto, it separates the parts (understandably).  Can anyone suggest the best way to turn two parts in to one part?  Like grouping diagrams in powerpoint (cringe - sorry)?

For this type of workflow you could create a new In-context part studio from the assembly and then use the Transform feature to copy the parts. Finally, use a Boolean feature to union the parts together!

I think it worked, although the building/rectangular prism (between the ground and the roof) seems to disappear in Kiri:Moto.  I'll see what happens in the print job!
