    You navigate to the Part Studio that is created which basically holds all the "part files" from the import in one space (if you chose the default import options). From there you can edit the appearance of the parts and see that reflected in the assembly.

    In Onshape, Part Studios are the source of truth/data for designs. You can see that with an imported step assembly by seeing the "Import" feature in the feature tree.
