Inserting a part multiple times in different sizes to an assembly

I'm planning a kitchen. I've modeled the room as a part, and I've modeled a cabinet carcass as a part, with variables for the height, width and depth.
I'd like to build an assembly that shows the room with the cabinets installed. However, each instance if the cabinet might be a different width: say, a 21" cabinet next to a 30" cabinet. Can I import the cabinet twice and change the #width variable of each instance independently?
