Prevent featureScript from pre-calculating

Hi everyone,
I wrote a longer featureScript which needs about 10-20 selected vertices as input. When I start selecting them, it atomatically starts calculating which makes the process of selecting the vertices more difficult/slower.
Is there a way to stop the script from caclulating anything until I click the checkmark to finish the featureScript call?
