Insert Assemblies as (dumb) Parts in Part Studio

The objective is to create new parts that are dependent on assemblies. In my case I need to design the pulp paper packaging for my products. I would like to have the same packaging be used for two of my products (assemblies). I would like to use the boolean operation to create the pulp paper parts. I have no need to modify the assemblies or component parts from the part studio. So, maybe there can be an Insert "Dumb or Block" Assembly. (The "Dumb" or "Block" would indicate that the assembly is only a 3D space.) Or maybe Insert Assembly as Part. Nobody would care that it doesn't function as an assembly.

I've read other requests for this and the quick answer is to use in context edit. I don't see that helping and I've seen exporting the assembly and importing it flattened(?), but I want to use multiple assemblies in the part studio.

Thanks!
William
