i wanted to control the shape of the protrusion of the loft. right now it looks like a cap. what do i do to get it to only protrude on the center without forming the "duck bill"?

The "duck bill" is built into your Sketch4 which is being used as a guide curve. Just get rid of the lip on the left by deleting the spline point and dragging the tangent handle on that end to be vertical.
