Unpredictable tangent mate behavior

Document:

I am trying to have the wheel (indicated by the green arrow in the screen shot) follow a tangent path as the table is rotated along a central axis in the following order of arrows: yellow -> red-> blue and back in reverse order when rotating the table to the opposite direction. It seems that the wheel is able to follow this path in some instances and in other instances it fails to make the transition over the blue <-> red border. I think the reason is multiple contact points between the wheel and the ramp surface at the blue <-> red transition point. Is there a better way to achieve this motion path?
thanks
