Boolean

Hello,
I am creating a spoon and I am having issues using boolean with the mirrored halves. If anyone can offer advice on how to resolve this I would be grateful.

As a side note, is it necessary to make this one part to be used to produce a mold?

I made this spoon example in the past. Maybe this can help you.

In your example, the second loft profile needs to match tangency for the end condition. I would suggest making a smaller surface for just the spoon portion and build the stem out with a second surface. Doing this in one feature will be difficult.
Thanks for the input, John. I attempted your method based on the spoon you sent. I am having issues lofting the handle like yours. I am getting a message that I need to put the profiles in order. I have reordered them but have the same result. Any ideas what could be causing this?

If you redo the loft feature it seems to be fine. I created a new feature and it seemed to work.
I took a closer look at how the actual spoon was created. The guides used for the fill surface made the surface buckle towards the back.
I tried a different approach by using a line of symmetry and constructions surfaces. This removes the issue at the back of the spoon.
I made a few other changes to the model to help transition the bowl to the handle. It's not perfect, but with some adjustments it can become a lot smoother. Hope this help!

Thank you for the adjustments and guidance. Your solutions were very useful and I am always happy to learn another technique. Splitting the bowl to create a smoother transition was very nice.
