Converting a Sectioned face onto a sketch

Is there a way to project the perimeter of a sectioned view onto a sketch on the same plane as the section view?
I have imported step file and would like to duplicate the cross-section onto a sketch to modify and refine..
Obviously I could live with lines that wouldn't translate, although the should all have the potential to convert to sketch entities in this case.
Any suggestions?

However, in your case, if you're modifying the existing geometry, you may want to consider using Onshape's direct editing tools to make the changes rather than duplicating the entire cross-section.

there is an improvement request for handling constraints here
And someone posted a tip that helps - view the sketch from the edge and all the constraints will be above or below the plane. Makes selecting them easier.
If your section isn't coincident with the largest area of your part you can get creative with splitting the body in the location you want, projecting the split face with this FS, and then Boolean the bodies back together.
