REGISTRATION OPEN! DESIGN DATES: FEB 26 - MARCH 6TH

The past year has been all about working from home, and the first-ever Onshape Design Competition (ODC) is all about making it easier! Join your fellow Onshapers to design a new WFH product, while showing off your CAD skills and competing for cool prizes.

Overview of the ODC Rules & Guidelines

Team participation is encouraged, though not required. Each team member should register individually for both Onshape Live 21 and the competition. Individuals can submit designs, but people who work in teams will have a better chance of meeting all requirements. We suggest you find a friend!  The Onshape Design Competition starts February 26, 2021 and ends March 6, 2021. Winners announced March 11, 2021 during Onshape Live 21. Competition is open to all Onshape users (PTC employees excluded), but you must be registered for Onshape Live 21 in order to participate!

    How will the timing work for teams? Is it a shared, synchronous 3 hour slot, or can individual members use their 3 hours at different times?

    Also, will the 3 hours start as soon as the requirements/specs/rubric are viewed by team members, or will they be released publicly and then teams can work at whatever time they wish during the competition window?

    It is a shared synchronous 3 hour period and the team can pick any 3 hour time slot during the competition window.

    Individuals are certainly encouraged to enter the competition!  Don't let the "team participation strongly encouraged" keep you from entering - we want anyone who is interested, team or no team, to enter!  

    And if you are part of a team, each person still needs to register for both the event and the competition individually.

    During the competition you will have the challenge of designing and modeling a solution to a scenario that we will give you.  

    All the details will be available when the competition goes live this Friday, February 26, so stay tuned and make sure to register!
