DUAL MOTION MATES?

Not sure how to phrase the question and hopefully the (very poor) video shows what I would like to do. Any help much appreciated.

I would use a parallel and set the limits, not sure if that is the best but it should give you what you are looking for.

Awesome Wayne, had no idea how a parallel mate worked. Will explore limits and it should do the trick.

Just cannot understand Onshape's mate functions. I would like to 'animate' the parallel mate but it looks as tough only 1 degree of freedom can be spec'd at once. Is there a solution to what I would like to accomplish?

I do not have time to work through this at the moment, but just thinking through it I think to get what you are looking for is going to require building some dummy parts possibly using the pin slot, and maybe a tangent mate to accomplish your animation. You can get a close representation of your motion with a sketch and the tangent mate, but I have not found a good way to animate a tangent mate. If someone knows of a way I would love to hear about it.

Thanks Wayne, Seems like a pretty simple task as it seems I've seen much more complex animations but maybe not so much?

Thanks for all the help Wayne but am looking for a very simple vertical, then horizontal movement. I think it might be easier than I think and will make more time to perhaps integrate your idea in to the motion I'm looking for.
